how it Works.

How to get started.
-
You can get started by completing the intake form or by getting in touch via email to request one.
-
Your completed intake form helps me understand your needs and whether my services are likely to be the right fit.
I will respond as soon as possible, usually by the next business day, to either offer an appointment or discuss alternative support options.
-
A medical assessment may be required before your referral is accepted. If this is needed, I will provide a medical assessment form for your GP to complete. This includes information about your current eating behaviours and physical health. If someone is medically unstable, a higher level of care may be needed before outpatient therapy can begin.
I take a non-diet, body-respectful approach to care and am committed to providing support that is free from weight stigma and judgement. If having your weight taken feels difficult, you are welcome to ask your GP to complete this as a blind weight, so that you do not need to see the number.
-
If it seems like a good fit
Once your registration forms have been received, I will either offer you the next available appointment or place you on a short waiting list.
Your first appointment is an assessment session. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you, understand what has brought you to therapy, and begin building a shared understanding of your needs and what support may be most helpful. You do not need to have everything worked out before you attend.
If it does not seem like the right fit
If I think another psychologist or service may be better suited to your needs, I will do my best to recommend an appropriate alternative.

Medicare Referral
If you would like to access Medicare rebates, you will need a valid referral from your GP. Your GP can help determine which referral type is most appropriate for you. Referrals accepted include a Mental Health Care Plan, Eating Disorder Management Plan, and Chronic Disease Management Plan.
Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
Eating Disorder Plan (EDMP)
Chronic Disease Management Plan
Registration Forms
Before your first appointment, you will be invited to complete online registration forms so I have the information needed to support your care.

Ongoing sessions are usually scheduled weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and goals. This can be discussed further in your initial appointment.
